New kitchen counters and sink!

kittenmommyI have the worst cold right now. Seriously, you guys, I can't even.
But yesterday we got our new counters and sink!
It all started whenkittendaddy and I were at Home Depot and saw this really awesome sink. Our old sink? Not really so awesome.
So we contacted a contractor we've used for other home repairs, and asked him if he could install it. He came over and looked at the kitchen... no, the counters were rotten underneath and couldn't support a new sink.
And so we ended up getting new counters too.
Our old kitchen (check out how the counter was coming up near the sink):
It came with a built-in desk. Yeah, IDK either:
The awful sink. No, it wasn't dirty, it was stained. No amount of Brillo was taking that crap off, believe me! And you can see where the rotten counter was coming up on the left side. Lovely!

That crazy desk (yeah, I still don't know, but at least now it looks good):

Wow, that second one is really blurry. Sorry!
Oh, and we had to get a new disposal (disposer?) too, because the old one ceased working rather suddenly. My theory is that one of the cats dropped something down in there; I certainly wouldn't put it past them!
I'm just so glad I now have a big sink I can use for washing big things. That divided sink was really a pain in the butt! :p
